Both Gmail and Yahoo have implemented stricter rules for treating emails as spam, you must take additional steps if you want to use a custom domain for your emails. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to configure your domain:
Step 1: Verify Your Domain
Ensure a Valid Domain: Confirm that you own a valid domain name.
Contact Support: Email us at support@verisart.com, and we will provide a CSV file specific to your domain for DNS configuration.
Step 2: Configure DNS Records
This will not affect your existing email, or break anything with email from other providers. This will allow Verisart to send emails from your domain.
You need to add the records we have provided you to your domain's DNS. If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, consult your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Ionos, 123-reg) or let us know, and we can assist you.
Step 3: Activate DMARC
Ensure you have DMARC configured for your domain. This configuration is crucial for email security and preventing spoofing. Some general information on DMARC can be found here: https://support.google.com/a/answer/2466563?hl=en
The following steps suggest a very basic, minimal DMARC. If you want to do anything more complex, or are not sure about this process, please seek assistance from a DNS expert or domain provider.
Log in to the management console of your domain host.
Locate the page where you update DNS records.
Add a TXT record for DMARC.
In the Record name/DNS host name field, add
_dmarc
. Some domain hosts automatically add the domain portion, such as_dmarc.example.com
. After you add the TXT record, verify that it's formatted correctly. In the Text Record Value field, add
v=DMARC1; p=none;
.
For specifics on p=none
, review the DMARC record glossary item.
Step 4: Activation and Testing
Inform Verisart: Once you have added the DNS records and configured DMARC, email us at support@verisart.com. We will test the setup and activate your domain for email use.
Final Confirmation: We will notify you once everything is working.
