Why do I need to add a verified creator?

Verisart protects creators with a verified creator identity.

Before minting NFTs or creating Certificates of Authenticity, you must verify your identity. If you are minting on behalf of a creator, you must request the creator's authorization by sending a one-time request from your account.

Are verified creators optional?

Only if your Shopify or WooCommerce product is not an NFT and does not have an identified creator or maker.

Where does my creator name appear?

Your creator name appears on your NFT under the 'Properties' section on OpenSea and on the Certificate of Authenticity.

How do I verify myself?

For individual creators and businesses

  • Go to Settings

  • Click 'Manage' > and then 'Manage'

  • You'll be redirected to Verisart.com. If you have any pending creators, you can complete the set up, otherwise click "Add Creator"

  • This brings up the Add New Creator form.

  • Complete the form including your identity verification

  • Once your details match, you're all set and ready to go.

If your details don't match, we need to manually approve you. For example, if your legal name is different from the creator name you use publicly. This may take a few hours or longer over a weekend or busy times. If you're in a hurry to get approved, please chat with us at the Help Center.

Even if we're still reviewing your details, you can start creating certificates.

For businesses who represent creators

To represent creators, you must first subscribe to the Pro plan.

You will need to request permission from creators to issues Certificates of Authenticity on their behalf. After subscribing to the Pro plan through Shopify or WooCommerce, go to the Settings tab.

  • Click "Manage Creators"

  • You will be redirected to Verisart.com. Select Add Creator > Represented Creator

  • You must verify your identity and provide your business details the first time you add a Represented Creator. We review these before allowing you to contact creators. An owner or senior manager from the business should complete identity verification.

  • Complete the details for creator you wish to represent (and sell products for in your store).

  • You'll see a message that says we're reviewing your details (normally takes a few hours but may be up to 2 business days during busy times)

  • Once completed, your account is approved; you can send requests to creators and won't be asked again to verify your details.
